Being a person who loves textile art, these might well be my favorite kind of fairy wings; I'm surprised I haven't seen any full-size wings made from this tutorial yet. Maybe I'll be the first?

I made a little prototype wing this way and so far so good. It looks like it will scale up to full size without being too heavy.

Hi!
I found this site while scouring the web for wing refs and tutorials. For years I've been obsessed with coming up with a more flexible yet sturdy kind of fairy wing-- less because I'm worried about poking others and more because I want to be free to dance around and run into things without my wings getting bent out of shape!-- and I'm finally doing some prototypes that are starting to get at what I envisioned. This seems like a good place to share my progress and come for inspiration and accountability, so here I am, and happy to meet you http://i.imgur.com/3AVzh1O.gif

(The pic in my avatar is one of the first pairs of wings I made)
